Authentic Gucci Handbags Revealed

There is something fascinating, magnetic and beautiful about a girl carrying an authentic Gucci handbag. I am very confident to say that one of the desirable additions to any ladies wardrobe has got to be a Gucci purse. I have had customers tell me that their mother collected Gucci bags and they have continued the tradition. These ladies have said they feel confident carrying a Gucci bag from the seventies. You obviously cannot question the timelessness of some of these creations.

If you are have never owned a Gucci bag and are thinking of getting one, then you might be feeling a bit overwhelmed as to which Gucci design to get. Coupled with the fact that Gucci bags can be a bit on the expensive side, you have to be confident that your choice is one that will stand the test of time. An authentic Gucci bag you can be proud to call your own.

Below are some of the Gucci designer bags I see customers coming for again and again. Some of them are very recent, while some are from another decade. Either way, they have that fabulous uniqueness that you know is Gucci.

Gucci Pelham Handbags

These Gucci bags are characterized by how large they are. I sometimes think customers who have never been to a Gucci boutique and simply see an image of a Gucci Pelham bag seriously underestimate how large they can be. I even had a customer return a Gucci Handbag 137621 Black Pelham Horsebit Bag as she was amazed at how large it was. Pelham handbags are characterized by double braided straps, tab snap closure, horsebits, studs, bottom feet, and inside zip pocket. They also come in medium and small sizes but compared to other designer handbags, its still larger than the average.

Gucci Sukey Handbags

In the last few years, I have seen more and more ladies carrying Sukey handbags. They are tote bags that have a unique shape unlike the classic rectangular shape most tote bags are known by. One of the most popular models of the Gucci Sukey purse is the Gucci Sukey 211943. Most Sukey that are made of beige-ebony fabric come with either a white, black, blue or brown trim. They are characterized by a light gold hardware, double straps, snap closure and side snaps. Also pay attention to the pleat detail, detachable interlocking G charm, studs and inside zip pocket. They also come in Guccissima leather.

Gucci Jackie Handbags

Now you definitely do not want to carry a Gucci Jackie bag if you are afraid to receive envious stares from friends and foes alike! These bags are large (especially the new models) and come in different leather such as fabric, crystal or guccissima. Gucci are forever evolving the Jackie, so do not be surprised if you did some research online and discovered that the Jackie from the eighties is very different from what you see in your local Gucci boutique.

Now there are many more Gucci styles but the three above are my favorites. I would like to introduce you to a world of discounted authentic Gucci handbags that will make a fabulous addition to your designer collection plus an unforgettable gift to a loved one.

A Brief History of Outerwear For Men

Let us begin a stroll down the fashion timeline of men's outerwear.

Ancient Rome - The cloaks worn by ancient Romans are the earliest relevant outerwear recorded. They were made from cotton because temperatures did not allow thicker fabrics. The high status Romans wore marked cloaks while the lower standing citizens adorned unmarked ones.

The Renaissance - The 1500s, and the only outerwear we can find in this era is the doublet. Meant originally to be worn under armor, the doublet had padded chests and was only waist length with tabs to extend the length from behind.

The 18th Century - The eighteenth century saw the introduction of the fist outerwear, resembling the kind we wear today. These were heavy woolen coats, extending to the knee and cut at the backs and by the underarms to allow easier horse riding.

The 19th Century - The advent of the 19th century brought about a quantum leap in fashion and mens outerwear was a prominent part of it. Gone were the cloaks and the closely stitched long coats took their place. Upto the mid nineteenth century, frock coats and cutaways were still popular but by the end of the century came the great industrial revolution and that, along with everything else totally changed the very mindset of men's outerwear. In came the short coat for business wear and the long knee length, closely tailored variant as evening wear.

And finally the great 20th and 21st centuries - As fast as the world has changed in the 20th and 21st centuries, so have clothing trends. In the outerwear category, the 20th century started with tailcoats as preferred formal wear. After the collapse of the stock exchange in 1929, the broader double breasted coats defined a new trend. The mid 20th century saw a shift of preference from formal to casual clothing and coats went out of fashion for a while. And then came the hippies, a new breed of youth the world couldn't imagine was their own, but their contribution to fashion was enormous. The 60s to 80s saw colors, a host of materials, the inclination towards looking sexy with a whole hearted approach to style. After that, the men's overcoat started undergoing rapid changes, double-breasted coats came in and out of fashion dictated by pop and movie icons. Leather, nylon, camelhair and velvet took a totally new look and feel. This is the age where practicality met style and thus began a process which has not ended yet.

From the days of the cloak, the mens overcoat has come a long way and evolved into the sleek and powerful looking garb we consider it today.

Tips For Selecting a Dress Overcoat

Mens overcoats are the most important aspect of their garb. It is the one thing that should not be worn without thought because it could make or destroy a person's image. Recently, Hollywood movies have brought a new type of revival to the overcoat. Every villain, vampire, punk and cop is shown wearing their own style of long overcoat and this too has created a greater consciousness for the garment. Here are a few tips that may be helpful for you in choosing the best overcoat a little quicker.

Longer the better but not too long - Ideally, an overcoat must fall below your knees. Whether you want to go for ankle length or not is your choice but the coat must be the longest of your clothing. There are two basic lengths available for overcoats, full and three quarters. Full length overcoats give a complete, stable look while the three quarters are more trendy and apt for all heights of men. However, it is best to get the length altered to your specifications and according to what looks best on your physique.

Single or double breasted? That is the question - The next important aspect of selecting a mens overcoat is the design. Single breasted overcoats are more modern, and enduring to the changing fashion trends. They are also available with and without belts. Double breasted overcoats are best for the more mature, older men. At the end of the day however, it isn't your height or age that determines the choice of style but your own preference. Anything can look good if you carry it properly.

Color brings out the form - Color is what determines the outlook your overcoat gives you. Black denotes power, red represents danger and grey signals sobriety and camel radiates promise. Likewise, every color has its own attitude. Darker colors are able to hide more dirt and dust than the lighter ones, but it really doesn't matter unless your overcoat is made from velvet or similar material.

The fabric - The choice of fabric comes late in our list because all colors, all styles and all lengths are available in almost every fabric. Leather, wool, cashmere, velvet and camelhair are considered classic and evergreen fabrics which never go out of vogue. Other materials include cotton, nylon, polyester, lambskin and mixes of these materials.

A few more things to remember - Finally, you must make sure that the overcoat is a little loose because you would certainly be wearing it on top of two or three layers of clothing. The size of sleeves and fall of shoulders, the quality of the buttons, zips and belts all must be analyzed before emptying the wallet.

It is hoped that this article will help you select a better mens overcoat.

Boots With the Peep Toe

Summer and boots do not frequently go together, but this is exactly the synergy the designers managed to find. The Summer boots have open toes and many ventilation points to make it very useful even in the hot summer days.

"Peep Toe" boots are one of the hottest trends in boots these past months. This type of boot expresses sexiness and yet manages to be very stylish, perfect for the spring and summer months, when the coats come off.

Different designers throw their hats into the ring and came up with their versions of spring boots. They are very feminine and most of them have high heels, but the designs vary dramatically; from an elongated sandal the reaches the ankle to leather clad boots that reach the knee but are made like wrapped Greek sandals on a very modern heel.

Louis Vuitton has open toe ankle boots in white calf suede and others in fabric. Jimmy Choo has a stylish suede cut out sandal boot in Detroit yellow and Christian Louboutin has designed the Tina Summer Boot with his famous fringe and an open toe.

Autumn/winter and spring/summer 2010 shows in London, Paris, Milan and New York brought out many trends with all new styles, colors, patterns and ideas.

Booties and ankle boots are very hot this season when it comes to fashion boots. Booties are not only comfortable but also look stylish and chic. They are available in versions ranging from fancy, retro, trendy and sleek. They can go with anything you wear and come in suede, with bows, ruffles, velvet lace up, cage booties and even with glitters and feathers and range from under $100 to over $1,000, depending on the designer.

Fashion boots designed for the spring are made from different materials. Leather is of course the leading one and is very thin and light. Other styles are made of fabric and man-made materials that look like a quilt. Another pair comes with pink fabric ruffles in the front.

The colors take their inspiration from the rainbow and are vibrant. You can find women's boots in patent, metallics, satin, suede and animal skins with crazy prints. YSL has a summer boots that he called "Cage" because of the symmetric stripes this boot supports. They are available in platform pump with ankle strap. Dressing For the Snow

If you are planning a trip to the snow, the first thing that you need to be concerned about is what to wear while going to the snow. When choosing the appropriate snow clothing you will want to keep in mind what type of boots you will be wearing, but also about what type of clothing you will be wearing.

Aside from snow boots, the next thing you will want to pick up is some type of snow pants. The reason that you want to have snow pants is that the snow pants are thick enough to keep you warm in the coldest conditions, especially if you get a temperature rating of -40 degrees, so pay close attention to the temperature rating on the snow pants. Snow pants will also keep you dry in the snow because they are waterproof. Chances are you will be slipping and falling in the snow, especially if it is your first time, so you want your good clothes to stay dry.

You will also need a snow jacket to help keep you warm and dry in snowy conditions. One of the most sought after styles of snow jackets is goose down jackets because of how warm they are. Like the snow pants when choosing a jacket for snowy conditions you want to choose one based on temperature rating, the lower the temperature the jacket is approved for the better. You also want to choose a jacket that is waterproof; fleece jackets do not do well in the snow because when the snow sticks to the jacket and melts the jacket becomes wet.

When selecting your boots you will want to ensure that you pick something that will keep your feet dry, but also something, that will prevent you from slipping on the ice. The best type of women's boots to wear in the snow are snow boots. The biggest problem that some women have with wearing these kinds of boots is that they are not always very fashionable. What you need to keep in mind when picking out snow boots is that fashion is not going to be the most important thing. You should be more concerned with keeping your feet warm and dry, but also with finding boots that will help prevent you from slipping on the ice, rather than what looks good. Although you can find various styles of snow boots for women, so you should be able to find something that is considered in fashion.

Fur Makes Perfect When it Comes to Boots

If a classic pair of tall boots and high heels is not what you are looking for, you have plenty of company and many other options to choose from.

One of the growing trends in the past few years has more to do with comfort than with sexy look. This kind of boot aims more towards comfort than towards elongating the limbs, and the use of them has become the "new sexy" style. We are talking about fur boots.

A few years ago, the trend changed a bit and put the fur on the outside of the boot. It still gives the warmth and comfort, but looks stylish, chic and playful. Whether they are by Bearpaw (Kola boots), beaded faux fur pom-pom boots, Ed Hardy's, Steve Madden's or Dr. Scholl's, they are all flat and comfortable and the foot part is built wide for extra room.

Suede Mocks, also called Mukluk boots, have became very popular as well. The foot part is made out of flat fur lined suede, while the leg part changes those positions and the fur comes out to the outside. They are extremely comfortable, have hardly any heel at all and come in many colors from white through browns to blacks.

On the other side of the scale, YSL came out with a fur trim boot, on high heels and fitted look. If you are a fan of "Sex and The City", you might remember the fur trimmed suede boots Sarah Jessica Parker made famous. The rugged sole made this boot sturdy as well as fashionable, and the laces are there for decoration only since the boot zips from ankle to calf. Easy, comfortable and sexy. Oh yes, and warm as well.

The first thing that comes to mind when talking about fur in women's boots are the sheep skin boots that blew into the market from "down Under" and sprung a bevy of competition from different manufacturers. They are flat, the fur is on the inside, they are unshapely but feel like a slipper and used as such. Since it became so popular, it has become a norm in certain age groups. Those slipper boots go with everything today - jeans are tucked into them, shorts that expose the thigh skin, leggings and everything in between.

There are the classic Cardy boots with the knit upper layer and a sheepskin sock liner that can be styles up and buttoned, slouched and slightly unbuttoned or completely cuffed. Those are also flat, on a man-made sole.

The Sundance Boots - are also made of sheepskin, but are geared for real cold weather. Double layers of sheepskin, stitches and cuff that leave part of the fur exposed are the trade mark of this kind of boot. The soles are rugged with extra traction and slip resistance which make them perfect for walking in the snow.

North Face, Sorel and other big outdoor apparel companies have also joined in the party and came with their own versions of boots, not necessarily for the tough outdoors as they are fur trimmed for their look and not only their functionality. Timberland's Winterberry tall boot has fur trims on the outside and pom-poms. Capelta's Aurora boot is an Eskimo style winter boot covered in sheepskin with frosted tips and a decorative toe and heel design.

Can Women Wear Boots in the Summer?

It used to be that once summer showed up women would put away their boots and move on to lighter footwear. Boots on women used to be a big no-no for summer wear because everybody just accepted the fact that boots should only be worn in the winter. The main reason behind this thinking is that boots look like they are made for cold weather and that they are designed to protect your feet from the various weather conditions. While this is still true, it is also becoming more acceptable to wear boots during the summer.

During the summer, you can wear all types of leather or suede boots, even thigh-highs because they often look good with short skirts or even short shorts. While thigh-highs are quite popular in the summer there are other styles of boots that you can choose form based on what you plan to wear during the summer. You can find boots that allow your toes to peek through, but you can also wear ankle, cuffed, and knee-high boots.

More and more women are beginning to wear their boots all year round, because of how stylish and functional they are. If you think about it if you have bought a good pair of women's boots, they are going to be comfortable to wear, but they are also going to look good with most everything that you have in your closet, as long as you bought the right pair for your dress style.

While it is becoming fashionably sensible to wear boots in the summer there are still some things that you are going to want to avoid doing. One thing that you want to avoid doing is wearing your boots in 100-degree weather with the sun blazing down on everybody. This is where it looks a little silly to be wearing boots because your feet are going to get hot and sweaty from the increased temperatures. The other thing that you want to avoid doing is wearing the wrong style of boots during the summer. For example, any snow boots or fur lined boots that look like winter boots should be placed back in the closet because they just won't look right in the summer. You also want to pay attention to the inner lining of the boots and avoid any fleeced lined boots. Any boots that scream winter wear need to be avoided.

Introducing the Bootie

If there's one thing a women needs in her closet when it comes to fashion boots, it is the ankle boot or bootie, as it became to be known. They are here to stay, no matter the bad mouthed they have been getting from fashionistas, and they branched out to different styles, different length and even a different name.

A cross between the shoe and the boot, they offer comfort and hold. Those who have nice calves are proud to display them with this length of boot. All the famous designers are making this type of boots; Prada, Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Stuart Weitzman, Christian Louboutin and many many more. They have become essential not only in women's wardrobe, but men's as well.

Booties are made for day and for night. Whether they are lace up boots that look and feel like the boots worn by the women of the wild west, or they have a completely modern twist on this theme, they are sculptured, made to look shiny with patent leather, or colorful with different kinds of fabric. They have replaced the evening pump in many cases and are extremely popular.

While the trend in women's boots is to go higher, above the knee to the thigh, the booties managed to retain their respectful place.

The materials the booties are made from go from leather to lace, from the simplest to the most ornate. Cowboy boots come in women's and men's styles, meant to peek out from under the pants leg and create the illusion of a full boot without going into the trouble of pulling a tall boot on. The more evening kind have ruffles on the front, some have fringes all around and all have high heels.

The boots might have cuffs at the top, where the leather is folded over or they are can be cut bellow the cuff and expose more of the leg. Most of the famous designer boots have heels that are 5 inches tall, even though you can find booties with shorter heels by different manufacturers. Some of them have zippers for a tighter fit but some are slip-ons. Others have laces, reminiscent of a by gone era.

That is the reason why boots have become such a must in every woman's wardrobe. They are versatile, look like the latest fashion and can go with any outfit; jeans, skirts, dresses or evening gowns. Just a look at the red carpets fashion, at the movie premiers in Hollywood, will illustrate that point. Women that have everything or can get their hands (and feet) into everything they desire, have opted for the ankle boots because they conveys the latest fashion, the comfort and are extremely sexy and fun.

Influence of Mad Men on Office Clothing

Following the phenomenal success of the American TV show Mad Men, are we to see the return of smarter clothes being worn in the city? If so, I feel it's not before time. The casual dress code adopted by some city companies has prompted many inappropriate choices of clothes for the office. Flip flops, plunging necklines and bare midriffs are surely sights best kept for weekends and holidays ladies. The same applies to combat trousers and denim gentlemen!

The businessman of the 1950s dressed conservatively in a flannel suit. Colors of the day tended to be dark brown, charcoal gray or dark blue. The office junior would dress similarly to the company head. Office fashion followed that of the American style with wide legged 'peg' trousers, shorter jackets and single breasted jackets. Shirt collars were small and neat and tie widths slim. Hats with narrow brims were worn by most men. In the early 1960s, men were wearing smart, hand finished Italian suits with narrow lapels along with a jauntily worn smart hat to the office.

Working ladies of the 1950s were expected to wear dark colored suits at their office desks. Jackets would be short with a fitted waist. Skirts for the most part would be fitted or in a 'pencil' style, knee length and narrow, precluding wide strides. This created the effect of a very alluring (for the men) wiggle as the ladies traversed the office! To make up for the dour coloring of office clothes, brightly colored jewelery and accessories were worn. Looking forward to the Mad Men influence impacting office wear trends soon!
