Women that are confident with their bodies often choose to wear belly rings to further enhance its beauty. A belly ring looks best on a body that is well looked after, a body that is kept fit and trim.
But navel piercings are one of the most difficult forms of body piercings you could have. It takes an incredibly long time to heal properly (sometimes up to a year) and requires significant amounts of aftercare treatment. Wearing a belly-ring is not easy during the healing period. It is susceptible to all forms of minor irritation from gentle handling to even the tiny friction of your clothes.
So how can you go through all the physical exertions required in the process of keeping fit and still maintain a trouble free navel piercing? Any continuous movement of the torso will inevitably irritate the navel region. Any irritation in turn disturbs the smooth healing of your belly piercing. Yet, it is by keeping a fit lean body that the ring looks its best.
Getting a belly-ring doesn't mean that you have to completely forget about doing exercises, however, to continue to do so you have to be extremely vigilant and disciplined.
So, to work out your abdominal muscles, you have to improvise. Instead of doing full sit ups that would completely irritate the piercing, you should do partial crunches instead.
While doing sports, you should wear a patch over the area to avoid injury to your navel piercing. Plastic patches used with sterile gauzes are perfect for this role and can protect the navel region from any hard impacts.
There is no reason why you shouldn't continue to keep your body trim and supple while you are wearing a belly-ring. But you should always be careful when doing sports and try to avoid irritating the torso area too much.
With a little tender, loving care you can manage to keep fit and still sport a fantastic looking belly-ring.
