Designer Handbags - How Much Should You Spend?

Designer handbags are everywhere these days. Just about every celebrity is walking around with one. And you want one too don't you? It's so easy to take out that credit card and charge it away. Whether you're looking at a bag in the hundreds or the thousands, this should be a decision you really think about.

So how DO you go decide how much to spend? Well the obvious question is can you afford it? That can mean different things to different people. That does not mean do you have enough room on your credit card. If you have savings in the bank, would you pull it all out and spend it on a handbag? How long did it take to accumulate those savings? It's so easy with a credit card. Remember, you are borrowing money when you charge it.

More importantly though, how often will you use it? Handbags are known to be "in style" or "out of style." Are you someone that cares about trends? If your designer handbag is considered "old news" will you still carry it? If the answer is "no" then you should really reconsider that purchase as most styles don't last.

How well do you treat your bags? Do you tend to place your handbag on the floor? This will shorten the life span of the handbag. Do you plan to carry your makeup in the bag? What if it spills and ruins it? Will you be okay with that? How about how often you'll use it? Are you buying a handbag in a shape and color that can go with most of your outfits?

These are questions one should always ask themselves. As you can see it may or may not be worth your hard earned money. If you answered "yes" to most of the questions than all means, enjoy handbag!
