What to Look For in the Perfect Pair of Shoes?

Whether you are known for walking tall in the highest heels or strutting in your kitten heels it is important for you to look for particular features in shoes so that you always find that perfect pair!

Before buying a pair of shoes ask yourself what your key wardrobe pieces are. Look at the styles and colours of your favourite outfits and then chose your shoes around them. This will ensure your shoes are versatile with numerous outfits and will therefore reduce the number of shoes that sit in your wardrobe only to be worn once. Consider your lifestyle - What type of job do you have? You may need to have shoes that are primarily for workwear that are practical but there are little limits to partywear when it comes to shoes.

Make sure you check the shoes materials before purchasing. A quality pair of shoes should be made from premium materials such as leather and suede. You will undoubtedly pay more for these shoes compared to synthetic types however they will last you longer and be more comfortable because of their composition.

If you are a true fashionista it is of course important to look for shoes that have trend inspired features - for example this season block heels, brogues and laces are must have shoe elements. However, it is also important for you to look for shoes that also have classical influences - this will ensure that the shoes you buy will take you from season to season without looking 'last season'.

Depending on your own style the level of unique features required in your shoes will vary. However, finding a unique and/or exclusive pair of shoes will get you noticed and will avoid the awkward silences when you turn up to work or a party in the same pair of shoes as someone else. Be an innovator not a fashion follower!

Finally, but most importantly you must look at the silhouette of the shoe before buying it. For example if you have wide feet avoid buying very pointy shoes. Have larger legs? find the measurements of the boots you are wanting to buy before you part with your money. Find it hard to walk in heels yet would love to and envy everyone else around you who can? Look for platform heels that have straps. This will make the shoe feel more secure, make you feel more confident and will have you strutting in high heels in no time!

If you follow the above points it will leave you with a wardrobe full of shoes you can actually wear as they will be comfortable and versatile, will save you money, will inevitably reduce the chances of you having to return items, and will ultimately have you stepping out in style every day of the week!
