How to Properly Wash Your Designer Jeans

It should be no secret that designer jeans can often times cost a significant amount of money when compared to more generic brands. In fact, with a pair of designer pants you can expect to spend well over a hundred dollars and sometimes even much more. If you want to prolong the life of your jeans, then the following are tips that you should implement.

Turn them inside out - Before you put your pants in the washer, it is important that you first flip them inside out as this will help to prevent the color from fading. This one step is probably the most crucial but can make a significant difference in ensuring that the quality of your jeans last a long time.

Always use cold water - Using hot water might be good to wash off stains or blemishes but it will only start to shrink your clothes if you continue to do so. If there are any stains on your pants that you want to remove, then you should consider using a moderate amount of bleach or to simply take it to dry cleaners to have them take care of it for you.

Use a mild detergent - Before you even put your jeans in the washer, you always want to make sure that the detergent you use is completely dissolved in the water. This will help to ensure that there is no residue on your pants when the washing cycle is complete. If you are not sure which one to use, then be sure to consult your local department store for advice.

Never put your jeans in the dryer - Once your pants are finished washing, then you should proceed to hang dry them instead of putting them in the dryer. You may need to iron them afterwards especially if they are a little wrinkled. Hang drying your pants will help to ensure that your designer jeans last for a long time.
