Wearing the Skull Balaclava Instead of a Mask

During the colder months, many people wear balaclavas to keep out the cold while participating in the many outdoor sports of fall and winter. Sports from hunting to snowmobiling all require warmth and comfort during the cold weather. The design of the balaclava is especially for warmth. But they no longer have to come in plain colors or camo. Now you can appear more daunting and scary in a skull balaclava.

The balaclava can come in a half face or full hooded style. The half face simply covers the bottom half of your face and usually secures in the back with Velcro. The hooded version covers the entire face along with covering the head as well. Since so much of your heat is lost from your head, the full hooded balaclavas are ideal for sports where you don't wear a helmet like during hunting.

The half balaclava design has the lower half of the skull screen printed on it. Basically from the nose down, you will have a skeleton print instead of your bare skin showing. This is a really cool look and quite eye catching on the trails or slopes. They are generally made from neoprene and keep the face very warm, preventing chapped and windburned skin as well as frostbite.

The full hooded skull balaclava has the entire skull face printed in it, giving the appearance of a skeleton face instead of your own. This will cause people to give you a second look as you go riding or skiing by. The face part of these is generally neoprene also while the rest is typically made from knit material, like a winter knit cap. These balaclavas also come down, protecting the throat area from frostbite and other damage.

If you are looking to stand out while out hunting, riding the trails or on the slopes this winter, one of these skull printed balaclavas will be a great addition to your gear. Instead of a boring, plain face covering, you will stand out and maybe even startle a few people while you're at it.
