How to Use Slimming Undergarments to Look Even Better

A number of different types of slimming undergarments have been around for a long time. In fact, some of the most uncomfortable and torturous undergarments were in vogue in the 1700s and 1800s, and were used to cinch a woman's waist down from an average 30-inch size down to a mere 18-inches by pulling at the waist with a stiff corset.

The girdles that your mother or grandmother probably told you about from the 1950s and 1960s were far less torturous, but were still extremely uncomfortable to wear for most women during that time. For some reason, women throughout the ages have suffered through painful undergarments in an attempt to conform to society's ideal image of beauty.

Today, women still work hard to be as attractive as they can, however they no longer use painful contraptions to contort their bodies into unhealthy shapes. Slimming undergarments are the way to go, as they help to enhance a woman's natural beauty and shape while remaining comfortable to wear.

Here is a list of some of the most common slimming undergarments used today:

Body Suits - These products can help to slim and tone the whole body including the stomach, torso, midriff, thighs and yes - the rear end. Most suits are designed to give no telltale, visible seams, so they look great under tight dresses, shirts, sweaters and pants, giving the wearer an overall smooth appearance.

Long-Legged Panties - These products work on the lower portion of your body, helping to slim your stomach and smooth your thighs, working to tone specific problem areas. You can wear these products effectively with skirts and pants, and they even look amazing with leggings because of the way they slim down the thighs without adding lines to your silhouette.

Camisoles - These products are very similar to a slip, but offer added control to the stomach and midriff area and help to enhance the bust line. Some camisoles are designed to be pretty enough to be visible underneath a sweater or shirt. Camisoles are designed to work beautifully with form-fitting shirts to help you to have a much more toned and overall more slimmed appearance in your upper body area.

High-Waist Briefs - These products are designed specifically to control the stomach, but have the added high waist to ensure that your stomach doesn't create a bulge over the top of your panty line. Many women wear these briefs in conjunction with camisoles, and these products can be used with either pants or even shorts.

Fortunately, women no longer need to live their lives in discomfort just to conform to societal pressures to look a certain way. With today's beautiful and functional slimming undergarments, they can have that feminine appearance in comfort and style.
