When Carhartt decided to launch their footwear line, they went to the industry leader, Red Wing Shoe Company, to manufacture their boots for them. Many people know of the durability and quality they receive in Carhartt clothing products and partnering with Red Wing Shoe Company transfers that same durability and quality to their footwear products. For this year they offer over 50 styles that come in a variety of safety and non-safety toe as well as a few styles for the women, and that's just the beginning of all the options Carhartt gives you.
When you start looking at the safety toe shoes you have four different styles to choose from: athletic and hiking boots, 6" work boots, 8" work boots, and loggers and pull-ons. The soft toe line has the same categories and many of the same boots just without that safety toe. One of the bigger changes to the line this year included the changes made to the 8" Logger/Lineman boot. They re-engineered the seam that connects the leather of the boot to the sole in order to strengthen it. So far the comments have been great about the 3938 after struggling to perform up to expectations in previous versions. The hiking boot, 3757, has received great reviews so far from customers who've begun wearing it. People have found it of great use for not only hiking but for wearing while riding their motorcycle as well.
Carhartt has taken another leap in offering top-of-the-line products for the worker and the weekend project warrior. When they decide to tackle another area they want to serve, they do it right, listen to the consumer and produce what they aren't finding in other lines. What will Carhartt tackle next? We can only assume, but we're sure they will do it right!
