On Cufflinks and How to Wear Them

If you wear silver cufflinks, you have to be sure that your belt buckles are also silver, and if you're wearing gold cufflinks, gold belt buckles should also be observed. Gold cufflinks are also perfect with wardrobes in varying shades of brown such as a tan colored suit, brown dress shoes, and brown belt. On the other hand, silver is perfect for gray, blue and charcoal-black suits.

Of course, other than silver and gold, cufflinks also come in varied colors. Some have colored stones on them while others are made from ceramic in a single solid color. These cufflinks are typically less formal but they can add a nice touch to your outfit while contrasting or enhancing the entire theme of your suit. Match your cufflinks with your neckties. If you are wearing lilac cufflinks, you have to wear lilac neckties as well. It does not have to be of the same hue but at least, they should be on the same color family.

You can try to search online and you will be confronted with a million pictures and links that all feature varied styles and design of cufflinks. General rule: the more basic the cufflinks, the more conservative and classy it looks. If you are bored with your everyday office suits and want to have a little fun in your wardrobe, then you can wear novelty cufflinks that can significantly show your passion and personality. Novelty cufflinks do not work like novelty ties. As cufflinks are minute details, they are tolerated and accepted at a certain extent although they are novelty designed.
