When you first glance at the wide selection that Carhartt offers, your first impression might be that their logo and name are tattooed all over them. Carhartt feels their name is not only a sign of durability and quality but those same attributes apply to the person wearing it. If a passerby is able to detect the logo, their impression will be of the person that they are a hard worker and like clothing that will just as hard for them. They are being very creative with their logo and utilizing aspects of the industries their customers work in. The Nailed Logo Short-Sleeve T-Shirt (K326) takes nails and configures them in a manner that illustrates the logo. The Bulldozer Short-Sleeve Ringer T-Shirt takes a bulldozer, very common in the construction industry, and utilizes it in a graphic that is stylish in today's manner but represents the toughness of Carhartt products.
You might be asking yourself, are they just using construction supplies and equipment to make their shirts "stylish?" In the Tools Logo Short-Sleeve T-Shirt (K336) they took what a growing amount of people are doing and tattooing either a name or phrase across their shoulder blades and used the Carhartt name. This shirt is very simple, but has a lot of style points in the eyes of the younger Carhartt-wearing generation. For the Pinstriped Logo Short-Sleeve T-Shirt (K358) they utilized another trend from the younger generations in pin striping. In this t-shirt they took a cool graphic utilizing the Carhartt "C" and then placed it in a location on the shirt that is unconventional. The white graphic on the black heather shirt instantly pops off and grabs any passer by's attention.
Like I mentioned before the one complaint, mostly from the older Carhartt customers, is that the fabric doesn't feel durable and I don't believe Carhartt was going for that in this line of shirts. They are looking to attract a younger demographic with this shirts, but I've seen many older gentlemen wearing them and most were very excited about them. Their wives added that it looks a lot better than some of the stained pocket t-shirts (K87) they have. The other downfall of this new line is the exclusion of big and tall sizes. Carhartt produced this shirt in only the medium through 2XL sizes. Will there be new styles for the fall we'll have to wait and see!
